- A receiver that warns the pilot of any aircraft either illuminating it or otherwise in its near vicinity. Most receivers are activated only when the adversary aircraft has its radar on in the direction of the aircraft. There is a suitable display in the cockpit indicating generally the type of threat and its location. The warning normally is supplemented by an audio warning.
